Abstract
The Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA) is Australian Government’s central behavioural science research unit. The team’s mission is to improve the lives of Australians by generating and applying evidence from the behavioural and social sciences to find solutions to complex policy problems. In the 10 years since being established, BETA has completed more than 150 research projects, published more than 50 reports, and delivered behavioural science training to thousands of Australian public servants.
For its anniversary year, BETA undertook a stocktake of its work to understand the impact, reach and value it had. In this presentation, BETA will discuss the findings of this work and lessons learned from over a decade of applying behavioural science to public policy.
